Happy Birthday Eli Manning Ostler!!!!

Yesterday, was my puppy's birthday. I can't believe we've had Eli for 2 years! It seems like just yesterday we were playing with him and all of his brothers and sisters and begging my dad to let us get him....

This is how I will always think of him...so small!

Excuse my awful appearance this was seriously like 3 days after I got my tonsils out I was not feeling well!

Playing with cousin Macks :)

He has brought us so much joy and love! This puppy is a big part of our family and we all love him!

Annual Christmas sweaters for Eli :)

We all get Christmas Jammies why not him?

He loves to be cuddly :)

And especially loves Grandpa, who likes to share food with him :)

This dog is my super hero...he makes me happy when I am sad and he is always excited to see me! Happy Birthday Eli love you puppy xoxo

Girl's Weekend.....

This weekend I went with two of my very best friends to visit Breanne in Cedar City. We all needed a nice,  quiet, relaxing weekend to just hang out together, but we all ended up getting so much more than that!

Friday was just a fun hang out day, we had a bbq and watched leap year while doing nails...typical girl stuff (of course Breanne fell asleep, just like every other movie we've ever watched!). Saturday, we were deciding what to do and figured we were so close to Zions National Park we would go for a nice hike. Well as we get off the freeway and see the sign pointing us in the correct direction for our destination the next destination on the sign pops out at me....Grand Canyon National Park 132 miles....wow thats not that far. Well, after some debating and spontaneous thinking....we decide, why not?

After the long, BEAUTIFUL drive we made it and let me tell you it was so worth it!

Park Ranger letting us in :)

Goofing around like always....we decided to go to the Gift Shop first so we could all have matching shirts....one of the best purchases of my life!
TITANIC :)
Love these girls

Dangling our feet off the edge....super creepy!!

This is my model friend....Breanne :)

Matching Shirts :)

This place was so breathtaking.....I can't even describe it and the pictures don't even do it justice! I am so grateful I was able to share this experience with 3 of my bestest friends. Being there brought true peace and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect trip. If you haven't made it out to the Grand Canyon, I strongly suggest you take a trip, you won't regret it! I know that I will remember this day for the rest of my life. Thank you Breanne (the driver), Shelby (the map lady), and Carli (the logical one) for going on this crazy and amazing adventure! You guys are my best friends and I love you no matter how far apart we might be! I can't wait for Christmas break for our next adventure :). xoxo love, Emily

This place was the definition of passing all my understanding!! <3

Oh, Christmas music how I have missed you....

Yes, I am one of those people. I started listening to Christmas music today, but I can't help it. 'It's the most Wonderful time of the year.' In all honesty I totally believe Christmas music goes right along with Thanksgiving because I consider Thanksgiving part of the most wonderful time of the year. (Just as a side note in my list of favorite holidays St. Patrick's Day comes first of course but Thanksgiving comes second then Christmas, so I really do LOVE Thanksgiving). I love the next two months that are just beginning. This season is a time for good family, good food, and just a good feeling. I'm going to enjoy every moment of the holiday season! (With the exception of finals of course ;) ).
For those of you Christmas music nazi's have no fear I won't be listening to it constantly just every once in a while, like when my homework has completely drained me and I need uplifting :)

Now, on to the real object of this post...catch up.

Last weekend I went home with Allison to Blackfoot, Idaho. We didn't take any pictures except when I realized we hadn't taken any pictures on the way home so I took pictures of rainy, rainy Idaho.
While in Idaho, we went and saw a high school play, worked in a cemetary, picked up a basket of fruit and vegetable goodness, ate good food, and had some good Farmer family fun. :) It was so fun to go up there and I had a great time. Thank you to mama and papa Farmer and Cole to let me come intrude their home.

She is such a good driver when it's windy and pouring :)

While everyone else had their delightful fall breaks I have been burried in homework! Another reason I can't wait for Thanksgiving Break. School is so overwhelming at this time of the year, it seems as though there will never be an end to the homework, essays, and tests! That's what I get for taking 17 credits I guess...

This is the cartoon I have on my bookshelf, it's like a portrait of my life ;)
HALLOWEEN:
Sad to report Halloween was almost non existant this year. I'm not a fan anyways and I couldn't figure out what I wanted to be. The only real Halloween plans I had was going to the party that my apartment complex throws, because it was free and at my apartment so I felt like I needed to atleast make an appearance. I didn't figure out what I was going to wear until about 5 minutes before we went....I ended up being......a cowgirl/country girl I guess would be accurate. I wore my white dress with my "cowboy-looking" button up tied in front, curly hair, and Allison's boots. It wasn't fabulous but it was free! Which at this point in my life has become the most valuable word to me :)

Simple, free, and easy :)

Oh, and don't forget the glasses!!
Allison was the Little Mermaid....all homemade as well!

I think she's excited for Christmas too...Home Alone much :)

The amazing Sea Shell headband....totally handmade

Pretty sure the Little Mermaid is supposed to be happy....maybe this is pre Prince Eric...
We ended up staying at the party for maybe 10 minutes...we got our picture taken entered into a drawing and left it was super lame....and not even worth the stress of trying to figure out what to be. Oh well, live and learn. I came home and watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants :) always a good one.

The highlight of my Halloween weekend was when I showed up to my Family Finance class and my teacher started out class by doing the entire Mr. Rogers bit. He changed sweaters and shoes all while singing "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood"---I should've been Mr. Roger's....maybe next year ;)

I know its a bad picture...it was taken with my phone from the back row

Heroes....

I want to talk to you about one of my heroes. I have a lot of people that I look up to and plenty of people that I call heroes...this particular one is a 2 year old boy named Cole.

Cole lives in my neighborhood (in Sandy) and he has a serious form of Epilepsy. He is probably one of the cutest kids you'll ever meet! His parents devote all their time and effort in helping him in every way possible. They have been on my mind the past couple of days, because they held a walk last Saturday to raise money. I wasn't able to attend the walk, which I was really sad about, but I still wanted to do something to help. Since I don't have any money to donate I figured I could post a link to their blog from mine that way I can help spread his story. I know I have been touched by the families story and I hope that you can be too. It definitely makes you stop and appreciate your life in a much deeper way.

Isn't he the cutest little boy?

Emma Smith - Never Had an Ordinary Day

This song is one of my very favorite church songs (if you couldn't tell already I love to listen to church music!) I think often times Emma Smith is overlooked or downplayed in the role she played in the restoration. This song gives me chills as I think of all the things she had to endure. I know that she is a great example to me as what a righteous woman should be. Listen, it won't be a waste of time, I can guarantee it.

Thanks :)

The Piano Man...

Not very many people are aware that on top of school, church, and coaching I am also an agent/manager for an up-and-coming-practically-a-prodigy-insanely-amazing pianist....

ok so I'm not a "real" agent/manager, and I am self-proclaimed, and he is my brother, but those are all minor details anyways, right?! ;)

I love this crazy kid so much and I know how incredible he is at the piano (yes, you would think I would be biased because I'm his sister but if you've heard him you know exactly what I'm talking about. To make my point clearer I took piano lessons for YEARS and I secretly despised his natural ability, I have not always been able to appreciate that he is just amazing!)

Anyway, he has a special gift for the piano but, being his sister I know that he will definitely need someone to be the organized, planned, responsible, person that can keep track of this craziness! I of course voluntered my services in hopes that someday this kid will remember me when he's making millions happy with his music.

The point of this longer than it really needs to be speech is that I have created an official blog for him so there is a place where you can stay informed on all the happenings and whereabouts of Jake. Keep in mind it is still a work in progress and I am hopefully going to improve my blogging/computer skills by making a more professional blog.

If you are interested in keeping up to date with concerts, cds, and news about Jake's music life you can find it here

Thanks for all of you that have supported, and will continue to support him. This kid has a bright future I can't wait to see where he takes it.
